GREENLAB promotes green and just transition through micro-credentials
Sustainability and green future are famous topics today all around the world. Climate change has been a popular topic in science papers during last twenty years but now we all discuss on warming climate and especially green transition for saving our planet. If we have not enough unpolluted water and fields to grow our food, we have no future.
The main question all over the planet is “How can we save the Planet?” The quality of our future depends on all the decisions which we do in our schools, business sectors, institutions and political governments. The main solutions depend on the level of our awareness on the best practical solutions for our common green and just future.
The focus of the GREENLAB project is to form the education tool, which includes the main topics of sustainability: management and human resources, economics
and environmental issues. The education tool will include micro-credentials for each area listed before. In addition, the education tool may also include the basic information of all sustainability areas mentioned before, and the monthly summary of local and global newsletters.
Recent years we have seen a growing emphasis on creating a sustainable and just society with the European Union focusing on effective resource use and educational strategies to meet this goal. GREENLAB is committed to reshaping Vocational Education and Training (VET) to address the demands of the green transition better.
The expected impact of the GREENLAB project is multifaceted: it aims to enhance the capabilities of professionals, leading to increased job opportunities in the green sector by aligning skills with market demands. Moreover, the project seeks to foster innovation in VET systems and promote sustainable practices at both individual and corporate levels.
Initiated by a consortium of eleven partners from six EU countries: GREENLAB is committed to reshaping Vocational Education and Training (VET) to address the demands of the green transition better. The Kick-Off meeting, which took place in Palermo, on the 13th and 14th of March, launched the works.
This research serves as the bedrock for developing the project’s core educational offerings, which will be delivered through an innovative e-learning platform tailored for professionals in environmental and social sectors. The expected impact of the GREENLAB project is multifaceted: it aims to enhance the capabilities of professionals, leading to increased job opportunities in the green sector by aligning skills with market demands. Moreover, the project seeks to foster innovation in VET systems and promote sustainable practices at both individual and corporate levels.
In Finland, CRnet CSR Databank, which includes the main decisions for corporate social responsibility areas: economics, environment, quality, safety, and security in Finnish and in English, has been used Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Universities of Applied Sciences. The CSR databank has been used in learning institutions from 2014. The content of the CRS Databank is updated by news five times a week and the science parts of each area will be updated once a year.
GREENLAB – Greening Labour market through VET-employers’ partnerships is a project funded by Erasmus+ Programme: Partnerships for Innovation and Forward-Looking Projects for Vocational Education and Training (VET).
GREENLAB is a conversion program that aims to promote a systemic reform of education and professional training, advocating innovative approaches to enhance the skills of managerial and consultancy positions in strategic areas of the green transition.
Partners of the project are: CESIE (Italy, coordinator), EUROtraining and Joist Innovation Park (Greece), INCOMA and Blue Room Innovation (Spain); CSI and GrantXpert (Cyprus), Helsinki Business College and CRrnet (Finland), and CANDIDE International and Syntra (Belgium).
